Stack overflowstyle forum

Has anyone ever suggested a stack overflow style setup for this forum?

I can think of 2 great benefits 1) users would get credit and qudos for there answers etc and 2) it would help prevent the same questions being asked again and again.

Only a thought, check out http://stackoverflow.com/faq if you haven't a clue what I am referring too.

There is already a "Like" system in place, so users do get credit for helpful/informative answers. As for the same questions being asked, all forums have that problem (including stackoverflow), so I don't know what (if anything) could be done to prevent users asking the same questions.

Hmm that style is not really suited for build logs, rig galleries, news, discussion etc

When you start to type a question in SO, it instantly gives you similar threads so you can check them out before you start a new one. It does help towards a quality over quantity forum. Don't get me wrong, I really like this forum, just thought I'd throw my 2 peneth in. :-)

@ Jimbojames please use multiquote or answer both in the same reply saves alot of clutter in the thread
