Stack overflowstyle forum

Has anyone ever suggested a stack overflow style setup for this forum?

I can think of 2 great benefits 1) users would get credit and qudos for there answers etc and 2) it would help prevent the same questions being asked again and again.

Only a thought, check out http://stackoverflow.com/faq if you haven't a clue what I am referring too.

There is already a "Like" system in place, so users do get credit for helpful/informative answers. As for the same questions being asked, all forums have that problem (including stackoverflow), so I don't know what (if anything) could be done to prevent users asking the same questions.

There is already a "Like" system in place, so users do get credit for helpful/informative answers. As for the same questions being asked, all forums have that problem (including stackoverflow), so I don't know what (if anything) could be done to prevent users asking the same questions.

When you start to type a question in SO, it instantly gives you similar threads so you can check them out before you start a new one. It does help towards a quality over quantity forum. Don't get me wrong, I really like this forum, just thought I'd throw my 2 peneth in.
