SSD Slower performance?

I recent build a rig for my brother and as the primary boot drive i'm using a corsair force 3 120gb SSD drive, but the windows experience index (which i know isn't the be all and end all) is only giving the SSD a score of 5.9, this is in windows 7, all my other scores are 7.8 or 7.9 I believe.

Could there be any reason for this? Is there a program I can use to better test the speeds?

*edit* It's using the SATA3 port and the mother board and I believe it is all set-up correctly.

Don't worry about the WEI scores mate. Like you said it isn't the be all and end all. It randomly changes my Gaming graphics and Graphics from 7.9 to 7.2. When I run the assessment again it changes back to 7.9.

An SSD should definitely be a higher than 5.9 though but I don't really know a great deal about them so I'm not sure what to suggest.

I ran the ATTO benchmark tool and got:

514984 for write

552842 for read on the final part of the bench mark 8192.0

Which seem fine to me, so i have no idea what the wei is going on about.

Re-run the assessment? Well as long as the drive is performing normally just ignore it

are you sure its testing the ssd??? it may be testing a backup drive I'd disconnect the storage drive and re-run it

It runs it on the primary drive, the drive with page file saved on it will be the primary one.

true dat but one never knows what drive paths others have setup if it sees the hdd as a lower alpha then it may check that instead of the ssd but he did say it was set as primary
