SSD overclocking? That is a new one for me

Hmm I noticed Linus brought this up in his last WAN show, I think im of the same opinion really.

Overclocking your CPU is one thing, your pc could crash but hey ho.. Screwing with your storage device.. sounds like it's asking for trouble to me.
 
I agree, overclocking my storage would be the last bit of hardware I want to make "unstable" lol

EDIT: part of me is like "omg this is awesome" but at the same time I am like... actually, this describes it pretty well:

Can't say this interests me, SSDs are plenty fast as is. Would never want to risk the integrity or stability of something that needs to always be 100% stable.
 
I'd love to try that, but like you've said having your storage become unstable would just be disastrous lol. Maybe when drives are far more reliable or with RAID 1 you could do it with reasonable confidence that it's not going to fail. Either way it's the first I've heard of anything like this too.
