SSD Choice

From what I've heard the SanDisk drives are pretty good. And the Samsung non-pro SSDs aren't all that spectacular...

Well this is making my life a little harder aha! 1 for SanDisk and 1 for Samsung..i've always been a fan of corsair..but never really had the money, as i can get a 128gb Corsair Force GS Sata 3 for £100..but i'm not sure for that money.

Id go with a Corsair GS, ive got the GT, and the GS is supposed to be able to hold higher write speeds

If you're spending the extra 20 quid anyway, you might as well go for the 840 Pro? Not to make things even harder on ya, but the pro series are good drives!

I got my Samsung 840 for £73 off amazon.
The price was the best factor for me, and the drive puts out very good read scores :)

Samsung 840 pro, Kingston HyperX3k, COrsair Neutron GTX, Intel, Crucial, and Sandisk haven't had many bad reviews; these are ssds i would recommend. Out of these i would find a 120/128gb model that's the cheapest. But keep in mind it will fill up quick if you put any apps on it.

Alrite thanks, i think i'll go with the Samsung 840 Series (Basic), and still £73 on amazon, so i think that's my best bet! I don't think i really care about write speed, as i won't be doing much more than the occasionally game.

Ahh right...I'll have a look over the next few hours and then decide, and let you guys know..just before i buy, don't want end up wasting £80 or so on a shit drive!

I personally am running a 120gb kingston HyperX3k and my boot is 8seconds with chrome opening as a boot drive. Plenty fast! I have all my OC'ing software on that drive along with drivers and i have 86gb free. After format you do get 111gb though. Personally i say a few apps after everything is all you're going to fit.

Ok, i think i'll pick up the SanDisk, it seems a good Drive, plus i'll be getting the Ultra Plus edition, which aparently loads application 16x faster according to their website!
Thanks

they would never lie! sandisk make their own nand so in theory they can cherry pick the best for their SSD if the vertex 4 256 GB i got was dropped to £150 then i would of gone for a san disk.

I would of got a OCZ, but i've heard they have bad reviews on their firmware updates they do, but i think i'll go and purchase a 128GB SanDisk Ultra Plus for £71 from amazon!
