SR-X ... Really 4-Way SLI?

Hi guys,

For ages now I've been looking at the SR-X from EVGA, planning on 4 GPUs and dual Xeons. Even posted on this forum about it lately checking out a few things and no one even noticed something that could be a problem ... EVGA SR-X PCI-E Slot Arrangement:

1x16, 2x16, 3x16 or 2x16+2x8

But it still lists as 4-Way SLI Supporting.

So my question is ... whill it support my Quad GPUs (Two Quadros and Two Teslas)? Or is this board not really a 4-Way SLI.

(Interestingly SR-2 is a 4x16 board)

Cheers in advance guys.

Yea there is no reason it should not support it unless they specifically make it not. What do you use those cards for anyway?

I use them for CAD , Video editing and rendering.

I guess this may be the place / time to start the debate over the EVGA and ASUS Dual CPU motherboard ... which is best?

I guess it depends upon what you want. I like EVGA and their waranty is getting even better this year (here) and I intend to get an SR-X but I am very interested in seeing Tom's "Inspre" build on the Asus board. Also with the new chipset being unclockable I am not sure how much heat will play a factor over that on the SR-2 for example.

Hi guys,

Does anyone have a link to Tom's "Inspire" build?

Also maybe there are a few things we dont yet know about the SR-X?

Answer:

Dear Customer Sorry, the final spec is not announced yet, we need to check with RD

Question:

Is it true that the EVGA SR-X will cannot output 4x16PCIe unlike the SR-2?

forgive me if i'm wrong but if you're using the cards for computing and not gaming you won't have them in "SLI" mode? especially not if you're using 2 different cards

The SR2 had NF200 chips added on for all the extra lanes, Im not sure if they have bothered with the SR-X or not yet....

Watch out for a review on the asus because its sat next to me

It's for my business pc so yes. I already bought the quadro card whilst in Canada as well as a revo 3 pci-e card. I am one of a few film makers that do not use any Apple products.

Once I start i'll post a build log on the forums.
