Spring Clean: Corsair H100

Hello OC3D Community, Deadloss here....

Having switch from Water cooling to a Water-Cooled Kit (The Awesome Corsair H100) I've gotten a bit lazy when it comes to cleaning my computer.

Switching from a Water cooling, to these close water-kits, it’s very easy to forget to clean them, from all that dust and (excuse my French) “crap” that floats around the room, and conveniently ends up in your computer case.

Having left and forgotten my cleaning duty to my PC, over the past months the build up of dust that the Corsair H100 Radiator collects is astonishing. (Please remember I do live in China and the air here is a little more, let's say ''dusty'' than other places).

I blame Corsair for making their closed Water-Cooled kits so easy to install and offer great performance, that I've fallen into Corsairs standard “Install and Forget”, and that’s exactly what’s happened here.

With that said, with a couple of cloths, a can of compressed air, and a good hour, that dirty radiator looks new once more.

So for all those Water-Cooling-Kit-Fans out there, give your computer some love every now and again, and your computer with love you in return.

NOTE: Considering the amount of dust collected in and around the fans and radiator, the performance of the H100 keeping my Overclocked CPU Cool, was extraordinary.

What case do you have?
You should have dust filters over intakes to stop it getting that dusty, and also if you keep a positive pressure inside the case, you'll stop dust from getting in through other vents.

I know, should be ashamed really.

I do hoover every day as my little girl crawls around the room :) but still couldn't believe how much dust there was.

It was just a shout out to all those who are in the same boat, and I'm sure there are allot worse than mine. ;)

A hour ?!
i clean it in a minute or 3 ...

LOL at the amount of dust.........

It took a while mate, as once I got the computer open, I decided to clean everything from Graphics cards, to all case and motherboard fans.

Hi Mate, I've got the nVidia Element V Case, and yes there are dust covers on the front intake fans, but not on the big side fan.

Ok just a observation but the problem is alot bigger then this person pc.......just for fun go see what kind of condition your furnace filter is in cuss im guess all you electronics with a fan look the same without maintanance including your lungs .....

A couple of friends asked me to post them, wasn't going to as there really isn't any difference as i've mentioned, the Corsair H100 is fantastic really did my overclocked CPU proud....!

Screen Shot of temperatures before and after the cleaning, but as i said in my original post, didn't make that much of a difference.

These screen shot's were taken at PC Startup. The only huge different was the max temperature that rose around 15'C more than when the H100 was finally scrubbed clean.
