, exact same colour and looked like the exact same case. The amount I paid on spray and so little on the case, I could of ended up getting a better case in that colour LOL. All part of the fun though! A reminder for myself, wear some sort of mask!

Did you scuff the metal before spraying on the paint? And where's the primer?

If not either then be very careful handling that paint, it'll just slide off.

Aye I chose to not bring that up. not gunna be finger nail friendly let alone the side panel!

I remember when I sprayed my CoolerMaster Stacker case. At the time they only made it in silver, so I spent about 3 weeks and about £250 on paint and products spraying it BMW Cosmic Black. Only to find out they were releasing a f*cking black version :@

I know how that feels man. When I HOK'd my Ford Taurus I wanted something spectacular, something amazing.... It cost me about $450 in paint which was quite a lot and I decided on Raspberry Kameleon pearls. On paper that sounded so awesome.. For the most part it was amazing, however, from 7pm until 10pm they went to the exact same shade and look as the metallic maroon I spent two months stripping off because I hated it

It went from bad to worse Jim. Before I got the car it had a replacement head gasket and skim under warranty.. So the engine was spot on. I replaced all the shocks and springs, the exhaust, cold air induction kit, new starter motor etc.

A month in and the starter broke (the new one) so I had to strip it off and replace. Then two months after that the alternator went. Then three months later I went to pull onto the expressway and the drive shaft snapped and broke and the wheel bearings went. I'd had enough by then so my father in law bought the car from me. four months later the trans died.

Fords. Never ever ever ever again.

much easier to get even finishes when the case is FULLY stripped down and disassembled. easy enough to drill out pop rivets....and even easier to put new ones back in....

with proper prep work and some patience, you can get some decent results form a spray can....

PROTIP : when using spray cans...keep a pitcher of hot water next to you....before you spray your coats.....dunk at least 3/4 of the can in the hot water....until the top (by the nozzle) feels warm to the touch....and of course shake the dickens out of it (that sounds all wrong)

my guess is on a case that size you would do best with 3 cans of each color....and 2 cans of clear....and some 1200 wet/dry, if you are really motivated (and all would be a waste w/o a good base coat/primer)

you should be able to do all of that for under $40 (US)

also a heat gun or hairdryer works miracles between coats to get the paint to flatten/bleed
