Sound help

Hey guys,

So just re built my PC from the Corsair 250D to the 380T. Also upgraded from 6950 to GTX970.

I have encountered an issue now though... I hear the sound of when you connect a USB drive to the PC and then disconnect it. I hear those 2 sounds after each other, every now and then... probably heard it like 20 times in the past 30 mins lol.

I didn't hear it before I re built the PC... any suggestions?... quite annoying to hear :(

Thanks,
Chrazey

could be a loose connection somewhere, that would be my best guess really.

Did that and restarted the PC... it sounded once, once booted into Windows, then nothing.
But I'm not letting go of it just yet, as I've done it before and it returned.

Any other thoughts on what it could've been?... driver/chipset update?...

Make sure you have them connected the right way and they are all the way down. Also make sure you have it so the cables from the case are not being pinched at any point in the line. Could be shorting it.

Alternatively you could remove all devices except keyboard/mouse to see if it helps

Thanks for the reply!

Question though, what do you mean by "all the way down"?... I have an USB headset and all my pheriperals are USB, except for my 2.1 speakers which are one green analog that are plugged into the 3 plug sound on my motherboard.

Remove all of them at once, or one by one to see which one/if any is causing the issue?...

Have device manager open and see which one keeps disappearing, that will let you identity what's causing it.

inside the PC make sure the USB headers are all the way onto the usb socket.

Also what SPS said, Device Manager should be able to help you. It's actually a good idea and i should've said that earlier

Cool, will have Device Manager running meanwhile then.
Also, I don't think it's the hub that isn't connected properly... I have eveything plugged into the back of the motherboard I/O.
