I'd get a Xonar STX as well - I own Sennheiser RS170's myself and the sound quality is amazing. They're wireless headphones, but that doesn't mean there's quality loss, in this case! And, of course, look up some reviews before purchasing anything expensive ;-)
I hope you aren't suggesting getting an STX and wireless headphones?
The 2 main features of the STX is the amp and the DAC.
Having wireless digital headphones means both the amp and DAC are effectively bypassed.
Never buy wireless headphones/headset for any reason other than needing the convenience of wireless. They certainly aren't better quality than DT770s, or anything else listed here - especially for the price.
I"ll go with the STX but as for the headset the ADG1 is still the best option for me as here in New Zealand there are not not that many brands (and range) to chose from.
are sound cards really needed or not? this id something that has been bugging me for a long time now
Sadly PC Gear in Australia wont ship to NZ so im stuck with the local suppliers
