p990 just has a better camera and looks nicer than p910? Or are there plenty of other features I don't know about.

The only real issue I have with PS3 is the blu-ray solution which is supposedly less back-up friendly than other high density DVD solutions that will come out shortly and not very PC firendly for future playback of films PS3 is a conduit for Sony to get this product to market (Betamax VHS all over??).

I for one will avoid blu-ray like the plague.

I think its not that bad, as blu-ray is on the same size disc as CDs DVDs HDDVDs

its not too hard for all future DVD players to play all formats.

and not to forget Blu-ray can store up tp 54GIG

You have to think outside the box I think blu ray disk are useless when it comes to making back-ups (protecting the originals which you own but do not want to damage of course).
