Sony Patents Self Destroying Game Demos

Will never work. Piracy is going to sky rocket, no need for ripping or anything. Simple date/time protection is stupid. Plus who wants to download a 20Gb game when you're only wanting to play a little bit of it? 1Gb is more than enough.

Cracking time-limited demos is the easiest thing in the world. Insane solution.

20GB download for a game that will likely be rubbish? No thanks. Especially as I have a first-gen PS3 and haven't got 20GB free lol.

Think this will fail so badly, what with time protection being one of the easiest to crack - unless its a new revolutionary method they've come up with. Plus with the download size it will put off alot of people as they dont want to wait that long to play a game they will only have full access to for a limited time as some people dont have the spare time to sit and play through a lengthy game, so they wouldnt actually get to get into the game to determine if they want to play it for real.

I guess it's the type of advertising they do where you think... I've just waited 3 days for this to download, and I've wasted my bandwidth, time and electricity money, I might as well buy the game. I've been waiting so long! I'm not gonna delete it because it took so long!

" this message will self destruct in ...."

haha it popped up in my mind to!

and Youngie id be the opposite, if they want to make me wait this long to test a game am i hell gonna buy it.

Do you think Sony got the idea from their self destroying PS3's ?

LMAO, but seriously this does seem like a pretty dum idea when will companies get that no matter what they do for protection it will be cracked by one of the thousands if not millions of people with the knowledge to do so. I think they would save money not implementing DRM, maybe just leave the good old serial key or something.
