OK, so I wanted to play the old school Soldier of Fortune (the first one, not double helix or payback). Installed fine with no problems. Whenever i try to boot however all i get is a sky blue screen (like the colour on OC3D) and a big Windows sand timer cursor (I think it default runs in 800x600 which explains the size). Task Manager states that Soldier of Fortune is "Not Responding" and it won't shut down when i end the task or the process (SoF.exe). I just log off and log on again to make it go away. I have installed the 1.6 Gold patch and the 1.7 patch on top of that. I'm currently running XP with a nVidia GeForce 8600 GT, 2Gb RAM & DirectX 9. I installed DirectX 8 files to see if that helped but it didn't, have tried running in Windows 95 and Windows 98/Me compatability modes which also don't help. I'm all out of ideas! Multiple reinstalls have been tried as well as DLing a new version of it to see if it was the disc that was faulty. Nothing works. Can't find too much help via google either so hopefully you guys have got some tricks.
