So as the title says what volunteer work or charity based helping out do you do?
I myself am a volunteer for The Rural Fire Service and previous to that was a member of Marine Rescue, and have to say I have really enjoyed my time with both services and I also help a little with folding at home.
So what do you do and do you enjoy it?
Looking forward to your replies :)

Help a local scouts group out (never been and never will be a scout, but it's nice to help) and am currently raising money for a Disabled Group that gather at my DofE centre. Raised about £850 so far, and that's just my little group - going well!
Also a trained Samaritan, and used to volunteer my ears around school, but that was a while ago now :)

Currently im training to do the London to Brighton bike ride next year. some may say thats not a mean feat but when i have a screwed knee, and add that to being a fat bastard aswell its going to be a mean feat,

Yesterday i managed to smash in a 25 mile ride albeit over Dartmoor ( very hilly and rough place) in 2 hour 20 mins i have hope yet. but at the end of that 25 miles i was dead to the world, back was in bits and stuff.

so ATM that is my only charitable contribution. until i deem myself fit enough to participate in any other sporting charity stuff. i don't believe in giving money to randoms that knock on my door im sorry may seem heartless but not for me I'd rather get sponsored and go and work for the money as it benefits me and them

I don't volunteer myself but I do donate stuff. There is a local youth group where I live where kids can go on friday nights after school to hang out with other kids, play games and do activities. I've donated about 4 computers to them over the years when I've upgraded.

I also donate money to a few charities directly including The British Heart Foundation and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). I had a friend die young of a heart attack due to a genetic defect which could have been detected early and fixed by a simple test but unfortunately funds for performing these tests are tight and that is one of the reasons I donate to the BHF. The reason I donate to the WWF is hey, who doesn't like Tigers and Pandas and other cute critters?

Waiting for the - I donated my money to buy a piece of equipment to simulate the folding of proteins to help find the cures for many currently incurable diseases...

We give a fair bit to cats protection and the RSPCA. Other than that not a lot...

We do put quite a lot on freecycle however which is worth quite a lot. I know that isnt really the same, but it does make some poorer people very happy

being a full-time carer for my severely disabled child (google Dravet's Syndrome, if you want an idea) i don't have a whole lot of spare time to donate for volunteering purposes.
But what i do have, i help a friends organisation (called Gracies Trust Organsiation) who run a charity shop and do charity events to raise money to help families who suffer from Spina Bifida, Scoliosis and other rare genetic disorders
