I think you will need very deep pockets and that board is tripple channel so its 3/6/12gb ect

It does of course depend on my job situation when I get back...but it's definitely something I want to do if I have the money. I could always settle for a couple i7 rigs that would be much cheaper but there's something much cooler about having a single rig hit 100k ppd.

I can't use the link..it was an SR2 with two Xeons at 3.8ghz and 4 GTX460s getting 123k ppd. At 3.33ghz it was still hitting 108k ppd.

Only problem with that is the amount of power gpus use as well as the heat output. I like the idea of a dual Xeon machine because it can put out an awesome amount of ppd with relatively little power.

Plus if I'm gonna spend $600 on a UD9 and $1500 on 7 gpus then I may as well buy an SR2 and dual Xeons anyway.
