Small talk & Chit chat

Just saw this trailer for a documentary on the (quite eccentric) making of what is possibly the most influential console FPS ever made, looks like it'll be an interesting watch:

Also Dr Doak, one of the project leads on GE(And TimeSplitters ofc), is doing an AMA on Reddit at 7pm GMT tonight.

Still got. It's absolutely filthy lol.

Coming soon. Just need a board, CPU and PSU. The one in there just isn't powerful enough and ran very hot.

BTW man cave alert :D

Clean that desk! Im also highly suspicious of toilet paper on a desk. And do not tell me its for emergencies if your pc cooling leaks. ;)

Vaping. Vape liquid is annoyingly sticky :(

As for cleaning the desk? no ! haha this is man cave territory I don't bother :p

I cleaned my bathroom I deserve rewarding hmm what to treat myself with at the shop tomoz :D

I vape tried lots of different things, but atm use 88vape short fills with nic simple to use and they are cheap, the flavours are ok for the price but could use more flavour. You get what you pay for and I tend to spend like 30 a month or so, really it's cheap for the amount of time it lasts me :)

For any Star Wars fans here, I was reading some Star Wars news earlier and it turns out that the Rise of Skywalker was going to be around 4 hours long to really fill in all the gaps, BUT, it was due to Kathleen Kennedy who cut and deleted a LOT of what the fans wanted to see... force ghost Luke, Yoda, ANAKIN....and a bunch of other things as it didn't fit her agenda.

Due to the royal frak up with the Last Jedi / Rise of Skywalker, All due to Kennedy, The CEO Bob Iger stepped down and a new CEO of Disney pulled ALL creative control away from Kennedy, Asked George Lucus to come back and with the help of the directors of The Mandalorian (John Favro and Dave Filoni) directors /producers will "ret-con" all the deleted movie scenes into upcoming series, movies, books, cartoons, To kind of reset / retell The Rise of Skywalker.

IMHO - Be way easier to just add in all the cut / deleted scenes back into the movie... make it a 2 disc set, Have one as the "Theatrical release" and the 2nd disc call it the "Lucas Extended Cut".

Be interesting to see this play out but Kennedy should have been fired a decade ago, The sad thing is someone like her won't be able to put 1+1 together and understand why creative control was taken away from her.

McLaren withdrawing from the Australian GP is a shocker, guess we'll find out what the fate of the Grand Prix will be soon, personally I think Brawn should make this one a non-championship race. (First practice session of the year/weekend is 1am GMT tonight)

(also rip my f1 fantasy team)

OK so I am really, really bored. Youtube seems to have ground to a halt, and those that are posting are talking about the human malware FFS.

I wish they had the WW2 mentality. IE - look there ain't much we can do but fight (and not each other FFS) so let's just have a laugh. ONE of my subs has decided to entertain (B is for build which is why I subbed FFS).

Thank god for gaming.

I'm spending my time trying to figure out to to flash custom firmware for a replacement mainboard for my 3d printer (Ender 5 Plus). I *could* have purchased a simple drop-in replacement for a bit more money, but nooooooo, that would have been too easy. This moron has to get a fairly new board (Bigtree SKR 1.4 turbo /w 2209 drivers), which has far more capability than a drop-in, but sure ain't plug and play. Now I find out the custom firmware I'm trying to flash (Marlin) doesn't have a sample profile for my printer. I can find profiles for every other damn Ender printer, the 3 / 3 Pro / 5 / 5 Pro, but NOT the 5 Plus, which is very different because it's dual Z-axis. So now I'm stuck, unless I blindly flash other peoples profiles without understanding them, which I refuse to do.

Then I rip my printer apart, planning the physical board install, and I realize this board's USB / MicroSD ports don't line up with the stock board. So I'm either going to have to Dremel the heck out of the stock PSU enclosure, or make another one, maybe out of 3d printed parts. Which makes me think I could build a bigger enclosure, and it could house the Raspberry Pi as well.

3d printing is a spiderweb full of rabbit holes, the 'Alice in Wonderland' kind of rabbit holes!!

How is the dual-z axis set up? Does a single connector connect both motors to a single motor driver? If that is the case, then another 5 firmware may work.

IDK, haven't seen the Ender 5 Plus in person. Do the two Z-axis motors use different drivers, or a single driver?

Both Z-axis rods have their own stepper motor, with a unique connection to the stock main board. But I suspect somewhere along the line, it's being y-split in the firmware. I've had a look at other peoples profiles where they used it on a 5P, and the code only accounts for a single Z-axis, not two, hence my confusion. But if it's simply being y-split somehow, because you're always sending the exact same commands to both axis, that makes sense.

Fair enough. That sounds well confusing. I don't envy your position there. I've modified my Ender 3 to offer dual Z-axis, but it is driven off one stepper motor.

I invested in the Ender 5 Pro. I wanted the plus but I couldnt justify its size. Still very happy with the quality of the Pro.

What would you say is the best software for 3D Cad design? Tinkercad just seems way too simple for making complex or custom designs like I would with Solid works.

Realised something quite funny last night.

Was talking to a buddy about my last dream rig.

It had a 3970x sandy extreme.

Then I got thinking.

It started with the 3960x, then the 3970x. It was sandy bridge, and what literally pounded AMD into total defeat.

It's almost like AMD remembered this and planned their revenge, going one model further with the 3990x.

Planned or not it's still delicious irony lmao.
