slow powerline?

hey guys

I'm currently using a netgear xet1001 85mbps eop, about a month ago i noticed my powerline connection speed had dropped. It was 20mbps before dropping, and now its 5mbps. It's plugged straight into the wall socket. There have been no new appliances installed. Is there any reason it dropped so much? Its unbearable to game with it now.

If i were to get a 200mbps eop such as the netcomm np203, would that help solve the problem? I just want to make sure that if I get the 203 then what's happening now with decreasing connection speed wont happen again.

I have always had good results with Devolo kit. The only way to test is by methodically unplugging things on your ringmain to see if you have anything that may be causing interference.

I still do not see the use for power lines, you should get yourself a nice wireless router and go wireless, you may end up with better results and by the looks of it, better reliability.
