Hi everyone,

JUst did a fresh install on my corsair 120gb GT and everything was fine until I added my 6 hdd and wham! - boots up brick-slow!

I ve had a similar set-up before with my existing hard drives and everything was fine but i`ve added a wd 2tb re4 5400 rpm and I suspect thts the culprit ( and only variable from previous build)

I`ll disconnect it and see if it improves.

Have already unplugged all USB devices and no luck.
Been googling and it appears I might have to do the `diskpart` clean procedure using windows repair disc. ( did tht on my corsair GT as it wasnt being recognised my windows installer and did the trick!)

Man I had a sniper 2 z68 mobo previously and it ran like a dream. Really regret buying the z77-up7. It looks the part and gives my SLI cards more room to breathe my my net oc has not improved and it hates my GT 2133mhz corsair RAM.

Any suggestions welcome.

Thnks for reading

kind regards

The ssd boots up fine without any ancillary drives so its def not cables and besides i`ve switched ports.
I didnt realize but I can disable ports through the bios and by elimination I`ll whittle it down..
I`ve since reverted to my velociraptor and until I can get 2x 240/480 gb ssd drives and RAID 0 them i`m not gonna bother...
Thnks for your reply

I think one of the drives may have become faulty to cause the slow boot time. Before I had discovered that my WD Black had formed bad sectors, my boot times were frustratingly slow. Like you I narrowed down my problem by removing one drive at a time. The system booted fine without the Caviar Black. When connected it would take up to 15 - 20 minutes getting to the login screen.
