sllloooooowwwwwww

my computer recently had been going really slow, stallin, and crashin, with no reasonable explanation, i turned folding off, as i thought it was maybe processor overheating...but it made no difference, it is gettin worryin now...any ideas?

even SX is slow...and it aint my internet...

maybe its my graphics card?

or my processor...?

it is depressingly slow...it is slower than my 3000+ system...it seems slower than my 233 cellery....

both spyware and virus?

which programs did you run? definitions updated?

run pi or prime and see if you crash.

are you overclocked?

any processes hogging your ram?

not overcloced...and not acordin to task manager there aint nothin, i used AVG and Lavasoft ad-aware, both are fully up to date

that pi thingy always makes it crash, then windows error reporting ses driver problem, but it wont tell me which one...and i havent installed anythin new recently

yea, that pi thing makes the comp crash...it seems to get to loop 9 or somthing n crashes...prime 95...gotcha...wil do...altho i can guarntee it now, it wil make it crash if it is demanding...anythin that is demanding does...aside from folding...from what i have seen that is the ONLY exeption

*sigh*,

ok so you arent stable at stock lol. try prim95 and get back to us. put it on torture test or blend mode.

no, it aint stable at stock...should i underclock it?...and i wil do...it is downloading...once done i wil try it, and as you sed...report back

it ran a bit...then it crashed...n my comp wouldnt start....i kept gettin a blue skreen with summet like REG_KEY_INVALID on it...n dump of memory to core...or disk...somthing like that

Loosen up ur ram timings a bit and maybe try bumping the vdimm up .1 or so and see if that makes a difference.

Do as the man says Ionicle

if it aint stable @ stock then ur running something too hard (most likely ur memory) - so u will hafta loosen it a bit to check.

Hold up...the problem IS his ram, but he fried it I suspect.

He said he never unplugged/turned off the PSU when switching ram sticks.

Now we all know (cept ionicle) that ram slots still have power going to them WHEN the computer is "off."

So, I think he fucked up his ram.

Ionicle, I vote RMA the RAM. Stop fucken with it. AND REMEMBER, TURN OFF/SHUT OFF PSU BEFORE TAKING ANYTHING OUT/PUTING ANYTHING IN, ON THE COMPUTER.

& Also, 2.8v is more than enuf for TCC5 @ stock speed. Dont raise it.

2-2-2-5 is the rated timings, but..you can try 2.5-4-3-7. I'll help you with it later.

your new stuff is very very sensitive. thats why its busted. rma it and remember to unplug/turn off and count to thirty before changing parts

it works now...its fast too...i just bumped the voltage up to 2.9.....and i overclocked the proccy....205 FSb...so 2460 because it is on a x12 multiplier...
