Simple Watercooling??

Would this work? lol

. Adjustable speed!

. Chilled!

. Always fresh fluid!

. Gets colder all the time!

. Cheap!

It should work :p

But would suffer from corrosion or rust, anyone ever done this before?

:smileysho

Well, unless you take care of condensing issues your pc will be short lived.... Tap water is way colder than roomtemp and hence will cause condensing on your block and possibly tubing.. That, and possible corrosion (not rust, unless you plan on using iron blocks (do that even exist???)), but if you use aluminium that shouldn't be a big issue, copper is slightly worse me think.. or is it the other way around??..

Anyway.. yes, it'll work.. and it'll have quite a flow speed so 1/2" ID, and whilst you're at it I'ld cool the rest of the components aswell, though.. that means more insulation and more care taken to counter condensing issues..

Heck.. ppl been creative in cooling pc's for years :D..

Most impressive I ever saw was a pc completely submerged in CFC and one in oil.. think tomshardware did a oil cooled one, just keep the harddrive and cdrom out of the fluid and it's all dandy and fine.. Since the oil/fluid ain't causing shorts :d, but I'ld say thats messy..

Love the bong idea, but ohh mama, the humidity would kill my astma.. :D

an easier option (less risky) would be a closed loop system with no fans, using a pump, then cool the radiator with running tap water (hope ya not on a meter) lol

Yeah they would but I reckon it'll be good for benching.. constant flow of new water and cold as well..

Nice, innovative design there mate.. I'd love to give it a go although I don't have any tap near my PC, and don't have any neopropene to insulate my motherboard or a CPU block! :p

ahaha ill try it with a cheap block and duck tape!

this is a plan expect it in the futur dooods!

The thing you have to watch out for is pressure. Regular home tap water has a huge amount of pressure behind it (far, far, far more than any watercooling pump), so there'd be a good chance of the loop blowing itself apart.:p

Pfft. Im gona try with this £450 rig im building.

Also remember that with a tap you can make it faster or slower. So it variable :)

Just take care of 2 things: insulation and condensing water.. if you insulate well, the condensing ain't an issue..

I would be interested in the result.. could see it being quite good when it comes to overclocking.

I am thinking of building a tank on the roof. And use water collected from the rain. But then it would be full of leaves and stuff.

Would be cheaper than tape water mind.

Well.. you need this to be an extremely high flow system.. mainly since the system will have growth issues due the impossibility of adding anti algae to the flow. You can do that with the tank on the roof, just sift the water through various stages before it enters your system.. flow will perhaps become an issue with that solution though..

If you do pay for tap water, well then as they've allready said, it'll be an expensive solution.. The roof mounted one relies on rain, if it doesn't rain for a few days, your cooling will be horrible. Which is why I think that's not really an option :D

if you went for the roof mounted one, in the case of no rain connect it to a mains water pipe with a stop****, then if no rain you still get water
