Significant difference between CPU temp and liquid temp

Hi there,

As title states I currently seeing a significant gap between CPU core temps and the liquid temps in my X61. While there is always going to be some difference is it normal for it to be quite as high as I'm experiencing here? My first instinct is to replace the thermal paste but thought I might ask first, this is the first piece of water-cooling kit I've ever used.

I did verify the CAM readout using RealTemp.

Any advice would be much appreciated.

Yeah there should be a good gap, the lower the water temp the better it will be able to cool your cpu .....
