right even thought im a few months off from building my system I can get my hands on some ram and I wanted to know what you thought. It's corsair 512mb pc3200 (2x256) TWINX512 3200LLPT XMS dual channel DDR400 w/ platnimum heatspreaders with rated timings of 2-2-2-6! anyone know about this ram - is it actually BH-5 or maybe BH-6 ram or is this just a lie? Also when gaming and stuff will I miss having a gig of ram?

thanks, Nick.

Dont do it mate. You will definitely miss the gig. I've never overly rated Corsair myself unless you get some really nice stuff, like this BH5, but even then this is purely for overclocking, it's not enough for games.

I'm getting some OCZ 3700 Enhanced Bandwidth Platinum in soon with tight timings that you can adjust within reason - 2x512mb dual kits.

Although I've just seen you're an AMD player in which case the 3200 would be fine, but again, you'll miss the gig. Timings are everything with AMD.

I believe (as my luck would have it) I have found a gig of dual channel pc3200 with 2-2-2-6 timings. should I go for these?

If a website states it runs at 2-2-2-6 then it should right? I mean they can't just lie about these things surely.

2-2-2-6 is a nice speed, id buy it, a gig ofc, as phil says u need a gig for games really, whats the price tag on these?

I've found some more BH-5 ram- kingston hyperX pc3500 (2x512) 2-2-2-5

What are other peoples view on kingston memory?

better make sure they are bh 5 for sure

i think only the 3200K2 were bh 5...cant remember

the kingston i had was bh 5 1 gb 3200 and did 240fsb....not stable of course...

they had 5/4 issues so send them back to ocuk

with kingston hyperX did I read somewhere that if is had an 'a' in the serial line it wasn't much good at overclocking. Could anyone confirm this?
