Mixed feelings. 280 and 300EUR seem a lot for only 3 heights and no motor, but those can easily cost 600EUR.



Guess it's nice to have, but I'd rather save for a motorised one.

Yeah, it is a lot of money for a desk. I'd prefer to go the custom route for that money. buy my own tops, legs etc.

Agreed @WYP, I have some IKEA trestles and just replace the work tops as required; one of the best investments I've ever made to be honest.
 
DIY route a lot of people use solid (not hollow core) doors as the top. Massive amount of space for not much money. Can make it with legs or a floating style, however if using the door you'd need to brace it to prevent sagging in the future (they are prone to sagging over time).

Laminated boards are the best way for DIY desk. They usually have quality grades from A to D. You can get B grade top, and D grade bottom for a great price.
