setting up a raid

ok so i need some advice. i have one raptor 300 gb hd and a raptor 74 gb hd. those are for games and my os. then i have 2 storage drives 1 500gb and 1 320gb. i wanna do 2 raid set ups, 1 for the first 2 hds and 1 for my storage drives. so my question is if i do a system image backup on a external and wipe out this hds and create my 2 raids, when i reinstall the system image will everything go back to where they started. like games and os go back to that raid and everything else go to my storage raid? or wat do you think i should do. thanks

No mate with a raid you need to start a fresh as you may run in to problems otherwise

oh ok. so i should just completely delete everything then make the raid then reinstall it all back on individually like new?

yeah toms totally right im away to do a fresh install of win 7 and im just gonna save the things i need then thats it

i have 2 74gb raptors in raid0

yea. i dont wanna have to reinstall everything. takes too long and way too much stuff.

yeha i agree it takes a while but the advantages i get from raid0 its awsome these raptors install stuff super fast its great and games load so much faster aswell

Oh ok cool. Yea this weekend I might have to do that. In my windows rating my hardrive speed is the lowest one. So wat raid settings do u suggest. Like the stripe size and stuff. Also wat would be the safest way to wipe out the harddrives without damaging them. Should I just delete the partition from in the windows setup
