T Toxcity New member Apr 4, 2008 #1 Right, so I vlited 2008 and have now installed. Everything went fine until Log in. I log in and it "prepares my desktop" then comes up with CMD with the words C:/Users/Administator. And it stops there. What is going on? Cheers!

M mrapoc New member Apr 4, 2008 #2 It seems you have installed Server 2008 with the option to remove the GUI interface. A nifty feature for the power users when using it for an actual server p which you are not) when there is no need for GUI I suggest you look back over your options and make sure u havent removed it ... or do not do automated install and make sure GUI is enabled You know when you vlite pre-SP you cant expect to install the SP afterwards?

Rastalovich New member Apr 4, 2008 #4 I`m not sure if any SP os pertenant to Server2k8 atm. And to be fair, by the time it is, we maybe on Windows2k9 hehe seriously tho, I think u may indeed have skipped the gui. Think u can do it to regular windows via the vlite type tools. God bless dvdrws

T Toxcity New member Apr 4, 2008 #8 I give up, Server just doesn't work well with Vlite, I shall wait for a new version of Vlite before I install.

T Toxcity New member Apr 5, 2008 #10 Im not sure, but from what I have read Vlite doesn't display all the options when liting Server 08. Sooo, what people think is that it deletes everything that we cannot configure. That would explain why my install disc was only 400Mb. I will just wait till Vlite supports 2k8.
