Sounds like Powerplay to me, a problem where your graphics card switches from 3D to 2D by accident. I had the problem on Crysis but FPS drop to 1fps and back up etc...

If i disable Powerplay will there be any bad effects on the card or the computer?

3.3GB of RAM is seen becuase you have a 32bit OS (which can only address 4GB of RAM maximum). To use all 4GB you need a 64bit Operating system.

Your ATI drivers are showing as version 8.12 from 2008. You could try the 9.5 version from May 2009:

Definitely search the forums here and ATI/AMD for the most recent drivers that are recommended as stable.

I went down beacuse this all happend when i installed the newst drives.

Thank you for clarifying. All traces of ATI catalyst drivers must be removed for the updated version to install cleanly, and you do need to restart once removed before installing the latest versions. I believe you're going to have to start again by removing the ATI drivers and re-installing.

Personally I'd try just installing the graphics card drivers, at least for now, not the full catalyst package.

As a taster for quite how detailed this ATI driver update process can get, here's a link to an AMD/ATI forum thread that I just couldn't believe at first until I read it through and realised it made sense (well I am a sad old git).

Mods, please remove this link if you feel it breaches OC3D policy or could lead lambs to slaughtering critical system files.

Whatever you do, DO NOT delete anything you're at all unsure about and definitely don't use regedit unless you're sure of what you're doing. However, there are many relatively straight-forward steps in this guide that should help.

Finally, don't work on software if you're tired, that is the way to really bu**er up your system.

Good luck!

Just gave it a go, no luck at all...

I think youngie1337 is right, it might have somthink to do with powerplay?

what ever it is, it's starting to bug me :(

Have you tried setting your system power settings to never power down? Not at all eco but it may stop the ATI Powerplay turning the juice down.

I might give that a try if i can disable powerplay.

I cant find my Catalystl profile in vista.

nope it didunt work.. it might not be powerplay?

The only way for disabling powerplay other than that is MODIFIED BIOS. Not worth the risk. Better go ask ATI on their forum man.

I had a similar problem ages ago and it turned out to be the PSU packing up, was an Ebuyer jobby. Worth testing with a new PSU just in case?
