Second monitor suggestions

Hey guys, I've currently got the ROG Swift and am really pleased with it, for gaming with G-sync its brilliant. I'm going to buy a PS4 pretty soon for a few exclusive games and have been looking for the right monitor.

I'd like to use the second monitor on the pc as a second screen, but also as a monitor for the PS4. The PS4 can't display above 60Hz, and with the Swift being a 144Hz monitor, I'd want either an 120 or 144Hz monitor just to benefit the pc side. Screen size, ideally 24-27" minimum and maximum, with HDMI inputs for both the pc and ps4. I'm after a 1ms response time for the most accuracy etc.

I don't really have a budget, just not looking to scimp out or pay a silly amount, any suggestions would be really appreciated, thanks a lot :)

What kind of desk space are we talking, what colours do you like i guess you like asus for the rog display, do you want matching logos (i have two asus displays for that 1 reason)

HDMI x1 and DVI-D/DVI-D x1 as well are you running speakers or something or an external amp with speakers as your monitor might not be up to par audio wise, for your listening pleasure. :)

Cheers for the reply remember, I've got more than enough desk space for an extra monitor, got an 160x80cm galant from good ol' Ikea. I'd just like plain black really, I think I'm going to struggle to get a monitor to match the swift, but that isn't the end of the world.

I'm going to be using headphones 100% of the time, so a monitor with speakers isn't really required for me, like I say, just a monitor with a 1ms response rate, 120-144 Hz, and 24-27" at a reasonable price. Here's a few I've been looking at, love to hear your suggestions:

I'm not interested in 3D at all, but I've heard some good reviews of the BenQ monitor, let me know what you think mate, thanks for the help :)

I will be using it a secondary display, but I'm also planning a build for the near future where I'll likely use this as the primary monitor. I'm also wary about buying anything below 120Hz nowadays, even though the consoles are still 60Hz, I'll be using this monitor for a few years so who knows when that'll become outdated.

In the meantime, would I be right in saying it would be possible to use the monitor as a second screen for pc via displayport for things such as Battlelog etc, and have it connected to a console via HDMI, as the monitor has 1 DP and 1 HDMI input?

I've also been looking at this monitor, its 60Hz, but also has the 1ms refresh rate I'm after: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-050-AS

If you've got any suggestions for 24" 1ms 60Hz monitors, I'd love to hear them.

Cheers for your help remember.

Non-ASUS hat on:

I wouldn't worry too much about the official specs re: 1ms response time - as you can see from quality monitor reviews there's far more to it than that.

If I were you I'd want to get a matching monitor, and furthermore I don't think a TN (for the fastest speeds you'll be looking at TN) at 60 Hz is a great investment right now - they're kinda last year's product. But naturally it's up to you - you will inevitably have to pay more for an IPS / 144 Hz monitor.

Thanks for the reply Jim, I appreciate it. I've given it good thought, and I think remember is right. There isn't much point in me having a secondary monitor above 60Hz, it's only going to be used as a secondary for battlelog etc and the PS4. I am planning a build in the future, but I think I'll consider a different monitor then depending on what it's used for.

Realistically, I feel I'd benefit most from a 1ms 60Hz monitor the most. The one I linked it in my last post seems ideal, just wondering if anyone had experience with it or could suggest something similar. Thanks guys.

I have the 27" 3d 144Hz monitor from ASUS then i use this as a secondary

And i have been more than happy plugged in an xbox and had 2 pc's plugged in no problem its my "repair" screen which gets used mostly for when im plugging other peoples stuff into it but its brilliant for the value.
Your link is better equipped but visually apart from the bezel im not sure you would notice much

Hope that helps if not there is simular Acer and Samsung models out there that as long as you have under 5ms RR then you will be fine for a secondary. unless you was going to get 3 for a wrap then dwai so much.
