So last night I was looking around for a cooler for my 470. It's hard because there just aren't many around.

Then I come accross (not literally but DAMN close) this.

I started to tingle all over.. Then I saw that the fans light green. OMG. I looked for reviews but there weren't any, then I noticed this.

Yup. Same cooler they use on the AMP 470 only much nicer looking. God, now I was getting hot. REAL HOT. I wanted to order one. Then I looked at the price.

I hope you're sitting down...

Fifty five pounds

What mades that incredibly insulting is this.

Firstly the Arctic triple (if you can part the red sea and actually get the mounting kit) costs the same and is much bigger.

The AMD one which is the same only different shape underneath (but still exactly the same) is £36.

And the black one that fits the Nvidia 2xx series is the same price. So Zalman are deliberately and blatantly taking the piss out of 4xx owners. Probably due to shortages on the Arctics. So, screw you Zalman.

The good bit is I noticed how similar it was to the Gelid Icyvision V2. So when I looked for reviews on the GIV V2 I realised the temp drops were identical. Gelid costs around £32.

So I shall get a Gelid. Shame though, because that is ONE HECK of a pretty cooler. But I'm not paying £55 for it.

I know mate, they do look really really nice. I thought about ordering one along with my 470 untill I saw the price.

Unfortunately I cannot get the Gelid Icy Vision since no store stocks it here.

Same goes for the Accelero Xtreme Plus: nobody stocks it.

I found the Zalman at only 1 store a couple of days ago. Only 1 store I could find it at! Not many aftermarket cooling options for the 470/480 if you live in the Netherlands

There's not much aftermarket for them yet any way dude. There are literally about three.

The first rev1 Gelid didn't even fit the 470 as the standoffs were too long. So that's been fixed with the rev2. It's not as pretty but it's pretty much identical.

I just watched a video of LinusTechTips comparing the stock GTX480 cooler to the Zotac AMP! (VF3000F) and the Gelid Icy Vision. Apparantly the VF3000F does cool noticably better than the icy vision, although the icy vision does cool a lot better than the stock cooler.

Could you do a temperature comparison to the stock cooler when you receive your Icy Vision? I would love to see how well it performs!
