Saying hi as well

Hi !

Since Tom asked us to register at the forums and hammer the F5 button until his server blows, I thought I'd write my first post here as well.

Remember, if you read this, hammer the f5 button for a few seconds.

About me:
I'm 31 year old (young) Belgian guy. Got into computers the first time I saw my dad fiddling with an old AT/XT when I was about 8 (for the younger generation: imagine a PC without a harddrive and a black/white or black/green or black/orange monitor). I started copying his BASIC scripts and fiddled around with them. For long I thought BASIC was a game ^_^

I built my first system when I was about 13. Broke it a few times, so learned both how to break and how to repair them. Around that time I earned a few cents from friends and family for repairing their pc's. So I turned out to be "that computer guy".

I like to build purposed systems (htpc / gaming rig) and fiddled a bit with overclocking (I have my 2600K quite cool at 4.4Ghz). I haven't done any casemodding yet, though that's a possiblity for the future. Maybe my next desktop in a few years.

I'm not sure which I discovered first, the oc3D site or tiny tom's case reviews on youtube. I really like how he goes into depth with the case reviews. He covers all bases.

Anyways. That's my first forum post and my Intro thread.

Remember: refresh, refresh, refresh, refresh, ...

And feel free to share. What was your first encounter with pc's?
