Sanity check re radiator capacity

Guys, I think I'm right with this but please do me a favour and check I'm not going horribly wrong.

So: Hardware is going to be a 140W TDP Intel Haswell-E (probably the 5930K) and a pair of Gigabyte GTX780Ti Windforces, all watercooled. I will of course be overclocking the faeces out of it all.

Case will be the Enthoo Primo.

Rads will be an Alphacool NexXxos Monsta 280 in the floor in push/pull and a UT60 420 in the roof in pull.

Pump and res will be an EK D5 with 250mm res / pump top combo.

Fans will be Noctua NF-P14s Redux 140mm 1200rpm PWM controlled - silent as possible. Will also be 2 x 140s in the front as case intakes and a 140 in the rear as case intake.

Have I got enough rad capacity there? Really want to stick with 140mm rads as I want to use the Noctuas.

if need be you can put a 240mm monsta in the front as well I did in mine using 140mm fans. I put the monsta in with 2 120mm fans i gutted then screwed the 140's to the case as normal.

I ran several chips in my setup and had very decent temps. First was my 2600K @1.365 vcore 4.5Ghz, next was an FX9350 heater, and then a 3930K all scenarios used the same 7970's in xfire. Now that i think on it, the 2600K never saw the use of the 240mm Monsta just the latter 2 did. I will say I did not OC my gpu's beyond flashing them to the GHz bios which upped core and mem but lower volts. Your issue will be the fact you say your going to OC the faces off of them thereby adding TDP.

EDIT: Also you can run push pull on the 420mm as well
 
Oooh I never thought of using a 240 with two 140 fans, good thinking Batman! That extra rad face makes me feel much more confident in achieving cool and quiet under load.

You could go with a 480 Monsta in th bottom push pull, and the UT60 420 up top, or ram and motherboard dependant, you can squeeze a Monsta up top, in push pull.

I know I could make my life so much easier if I went for multiples of 120mm fans for the rads, but I so wanna use those Noctuas!

You can fit a 420 in the bottom, if you remove the drive cages, or even just the top portion.

I'm not sure you'd get much performance boost running 140 fans on a 240 rad ? the pressure wouldn't accrue properly surely?
 
Drive cages are going completely, I'll be mounting two 500gb ssds in the back and a 2tb HDD in an optical bay. Good news about a 420 in the bottom, two 420s should be more than enough and I needn't go for the 240 up front. Unless it would still fit with a 420 in the floor? I'm guessing not...
 
The 420 can fit in the bottom, but only if you remove all or just the bottom section of the side bay plate. If you look at the picture above, you can see I have fully removed mine, and the 240mm side rad mount I've used 3mm ally to use a a front face, it gives a whole lot of room for cables and stuff behind.

had no issues since I used 2 120mm fans that were gutted kinda like making a shroud. Only reason I did it that way was I had no decent 120mm fans and a ton of 140mm fans lol. Worked very well.

ah right if you've made a kind of cowling / shroud it should be alright :)
 
Yeah, using shrouds can make a HUGE difference. I use them throughout my builds now. They reduce turbulance as the fan blades are not skimming the rad surface, which in turn reduces noise and should (I can't measure it) improve static pressure. I'd rather run ONE fan in push with a Shroud, than two un-shrouded fans in push/pull taking up the same overall space. Arguably less visually pleasing (symmetry can be good) but equally half the cabling to hide and a quieter build. I'd go as far as saying that one good shrouded fan can offer cooling near as damnit to a pair in push/pull while being a lot quieter. Obviously fan choice being fairly critical here :)
