anyone know what are the safe temps for a q6600?this is the highest mine has hit so far:

slowly getting there!!(dont know how much further it will go as its a poor nvidia board\\0

P.S. how the hell do you clock the memory with these boards????????It is running unlinked so far as i cant work it out:crazy:

Temps are 100% fine. Q6600's can run up to 70°C safely, although that is a little toasty

To clock the memory you either link it, or just up the frequency, dunno what else to say :p

mmmmm so you reckon 47-48 under load is a bit toasty?

as for the memory i have been running it unlinked at the mo as i haven't a clue what i am doing with this(too much time with amd!!)thought it would be simple like that but just wanted to make sure

These temps are perfectly fine, though can I ask what cooler you're using?

I've seen the Q6600 run at 50-60'C on their stock coolers at stock speeds.

The Arctic Freezer 7 Pro is a good cooler at a cracking price, and it's what I have my Q6600 cooled by at 3.6Ghz. Alternatively there's the larger Tuniq Tower which is a bit more efficient but more expensive and fiddlier to fit.

:)

Seens as your running vista, nice little gadget available. Download Lavalys's Comp prog called Everest. There is a good feature there on their option, osd, vista gadget. Or something like that. Youll find it. Shows all your temps, voltages etc in a nice little gadget. Can change colour of font, size, different components temps etc.

Just thought youd like to know ;)

cheers mate, but i have already got that, just dont use it too often. I like to vary my sidebar so everest isnt on at the moment anyway,i have core temp running in the sys tray anyway for my main temps.

I take it your running the standard kit with the 120.1 included radiator?

Buy a 120.2 radiator and replace the 120.1, you'll get much better temps ;)

yeah, but i got the upgrade to 1/2" tubing so flow is a bit better anyway, but this kit was only bought to see if i would like w/c,which i do,so it will be moved onto my old rig,and i will buy a nice big kit for my quad and maybe mobo if i keep this asus POS

The increased flow 1/2" tubing will bring will lower temps. Temps are looking good to me, i run around 40c full load at a similar clock.
