Safe overclock with Intel.

Hello,

Intel offers for overclocking enthusiasts a way to guard against a break when overclocking a bit much.

This is called Performance Tuning Protection Plan. It costs 15 to $ 35 depending on the processor used. 5 processors are guaranteed, they are indicated on the Intel site available through my link.

hhmmmn

buy it once, £150 and then insure it for £20 so i can fry it 5 times....sounds cool tbh if you are one of those with a habbit of letting the magic smoke out

Sounds good to me. Means I'll be able to see how many volts it takes to get into the 5GHz club without too much worry

Also, should I ever need VT-d (which I doubt) I'd assume they'll swap for a newer stepping under this scheme as well.

This is just awesome, yup its one time only, £27.82 on SCAN for a 3960x, not bad, if only they could do this with other sockets aswell, i would try n push my 920 just a little bit more

I read the t and c's and apparently its a one time thing only, unfortunately. Sucks for those who are on the quest for the golden CPU.

you pay once and can claim 5 times dude from how it reads to me.

you can also pay once for more than 1 cpu so you could buy 1 from each modle and end up frying 25 or so cpu before you are stuck lol

I read it in Custom PC mag yesterday and imediatly went to scan to purchase it.

It is Only a 1 time Replacemeant. Basically if you go past Intels specifictions for the chip on the overclock. like going past their maximum voltage etc. then they will cover it for you with the insurance.

But if it goes out of normal overclocking then its coverd for replacemeant 5 times with intels anyway.

Cost me £14.58. Thats much better than £150 lol
