For those who are insterested, Apple's Safari web browser is now for Windows as well and a Beta version of Safari 3 for Windows is available.

You can get it here if you're interested. An OS X version is available too. :)

Posting with Safari.

It's cool looking, but kinda heavy on the PC.

So slow... so freakin slow...

BTW the font is funny looking, and not "haha" funny. :o

I'm on it now, and oh how I've missed Safari!

They've given it the Mac touch for sure. The menus are OS X'ish, the fonts are OS X'ish, it has a very very good feel. It's quite slow but to be expected in it's early stages.

I can handle the slowness, I won't be using FF again until I have a good reason to stop using Safari.

At this time, It is slightly resource ittensive. There does appear to be some caching issues with it and some memory leaks here and there. When oppened, it takes about 27MB. But now I've had it open for about 30 minutes and it's up to 148MB. So the browser it self might be a little slow right now, but the "Browsing" is supper fast, and without a doubt beats Firefox, IE7 and Opera.

And you can fix the font problem by going to Preferences > Appearance and changing the font smoothing to "Light" :)

Wow! This is really great. Anybody know when the final release will be out?

Also, a game i play can not run because it cannot create a cache directory. Is there a way to fix this?

I love safari on OSX :)

I was excited to hear about this windows version, announced yesterday at the WWDC by Steve Jobs :D

Hopefully the windows version will be just as good and compatible with pithhelmet

edit: I just downloaded it and installed it and the close, minimise etc buttons are ON THE WRONG SIDE :( and they look ugly like iTunes :(

I am used to the OSX look and style and use the buttons on the left

Also the text rendering is wierd, my website looks like it's all in bold and the edges of the fonts are all fuzzy and blured :(

Yeah, the text rendering is weird, even with the font smoothing on 'Light'.

I have noticed it renders a lot faster than both IE and Firefox. There are definitely memory leaks (it's currently using 614MB after being open for a few hours), though minimizing and restoring appears to restore the RAM usage back to about 40MB...

Can't wait for the final release! Definitely going to be using this over Firefox once the huge memory leaks have been sorted.

or me from opera, why change if your happy with what you have?

Gah, I hate when people say that (That, and "You don't need it".) I like to explore other options. Sure, I may be happy with what I have, but I could be happier with an alternative.

It's alright, posting from it, it's not that great though. I don't see huge time differences either, maybe a few here and there but nothing exceptional and no spell check :(

Oh great...another browser to code for. When it was on the MAC it accounted for less than 1% of our visitors, that better not increase.

How does the homepage look on it?

Still won't install :(

Any ideas?
