Sabertooth or wait for Rampage?

Hey guys

Looking for a new board for my IB build. Its a choice between these two.

I know the rampage isnt out so i wondered if anyone has any idea on what the best move would be, im not needing to buy urgently so waiting shouldn't be an issue within reason

you won't get better overtclocking features with either one seeing that ivybridge runs hot, why spend a ton on ivy when haswells going to be feature packed so much you wont want it anymore my suggestion is to get the sabertooth and enjoy the hell out of it until you want to upgrade to a "Tick" then go all out and buy a rampage - my suggestion

Rampage series is the enthusiast platform so socket 2011 now. I think the maximus v formula will be debuted at computex in June I read somewhere if that's a help too, I might be wrong though

you might wanna hit the ROG board and see what the clammer is there for a wait date.

what is so specail about the maxi board that isnt out yet on another boards?

Get the board that matches your colour scheme the best way possible .

The sabertooth is more a neutral colour and will give you more combination possibilities .

And if im not wrong they are both based on the same chipset , so you can expect nearly the same features (maybe a bit extra candy on the rog board , and that will cost a lot more money ! )

colour scheme will work with either really since all RAM thats good is red (Vengance or G.Skill Trident) so im pretty much pushed to do red and black

word over on the RoG forums is that theres some mobo announcements at computex so ill hang on until then for the whole build i think!

Any £150+ motherboard is good for IB, the MSI GD65 is one of the best if not the best z77 motherboard at the moment.

Was looking into the Z77 boards myself recently, Sabertooth and Maximus did look interesting but I liked the P8Z77-V Deluxe as well. It's a different color scheme but from what i have read it's a nice board. There are some nice blue RAM out there too
