Running out of Gas.

Why does it always seem to happen 5 miles from a gas station, at night, when it is freezing cold?

It happens because you don't pay attention to how much is left! Then you are punished.

I can safely say I've not once ever run out of gas. I always fill back up once I reach half a tank. I do that out of pure paranoia that DC is going to get nuked and I'm gonna need petrol in my tank so I can blitz and not have to stop.

It's pretty bad for your car to run out of petrol. When near the bottom of the tank it will start to suck up all the crap that is at the bottom of your tank.

thats one of the BEST things on the newer cars.(mine is a 94) I have a light and chime that tells me when I am low. Nagaru that has saved me a few times in the last couple years.

not as bad as filling your diesel car with petrol, my mate done it on thurs lol. I will try and dig a photo someone sent me at work.

Ya this is a 1971, so the fuel gauge kinda reads full, not full, and somewhere less than that.

People always say it is bad for your fuel injectors etc. but there is a fuel filter.

It clocks up the filters making them work less efficiently which means the cr@p can get to your injectors which is never good

Basically running your fuel down repeatedly screws up your car
