Funny, it's an easy thing if u use a pc. If u use an Apple, and ur upd2d8, ur legitimately stuck.

Gotta be converted m8. m4v files iirc. Tis a bit goofy.
Might see some evolution in this tho with drm matters apparently set to go out the window.

it is very easy to do!
go into the properties of the song you want as the ring tone in itunes select the section of the song you want as a ring tone click ok
right click on the song and say "create AAC version" drag the file onto the desktop
change the file name from m4a to m4r
delete the AAC version in your library
import the m4r file into the library
there you go done!!!
