hey guys, I was thinking about getting blue led's for my rig but I am now considering of buying one of those RGB led kits with the remote and inverter thingy. Now my question is that I don't really know what I should buy, there are 5050 and 3528 leds, 24 key and 44 key remotes, and I don't really know which ones I should get.

I am looking on ebay so any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Also if you could post the links from ebay.co.uk it would be better as it is full of so much different variances.

Thanks in advance,

hello well first of all i don't have both 3582 and the 5050 but you will get the point hopefully that I'm trying to make.
I use the 5050/300 the 300 stand for 300led in 5 mtr length you can also get 150 but it wont make much difference but the 300 will give you a more even coverage and will use a little more wattage.
If you want to just your side panel you will not need anymore that about 2-3 mtr's and at the mo im using about 2 mtrs for a corsair 750d and it uses about 24 watts with white setting on maximum brightness
take a look at the pics
3528 has 1 of each color

the problem is the color does not mix properly in close pleases ie if you want purple you will be able so see red and blue in separate colors

now look at the 5050 smd

each smd has all 3 colors in and mixes the colors much better

the remote difference is
24 key only has pre set colors
44 key has 6 diy custom presets
ie you press custom 1 then use the up and down on the reg green and blue turning up or down to get any color you like
all you do then is press custom 1 again and it saves the color you have made

you then just repeat the process with the other 5 custom settings and that's about it

so you will be best getting 5050/300 with a 44key remote and 5amp power supply
(to run it from mains)

you can mod a 4 pin molex to 3 pin fan cable for it to run off you psu but you will have to have some knowledge with a soldering iron

its a long one but hope this answers your question

*psssssst* Whiiiiiiiiiiite.

As soon as you turn a coloured LED strip on, all your white components will glow in that colour :s

guys, I ditched the idea of having rgb led's, I just went with a blue led strip (the nzxt one). I had white ones and personally I didn't like them, it looked way too blunt for my taste.
