[Request] Overclock Tutorial on 1366

Hi all,

I was wondering, Tom says many times that he probably would do a OC tutorial on 1366. =)

Since Im a newbie to OC and just bought my computer if you could do it after your AMD show you are going to Tom?

I bet would help a lot of people out there =)

OR

Explain how OC works, what we need to be carefull with, how to know our computer parts (I mean, what are they capable of, and their manufacture limits), steps when overclocking, stuff like that =)

Thx

I take quite a bit of offense of you suggesting when I should do it like Ive got nothing better to do.

Ive posted about it about 100 times about 1366 clock, if you CBA to read them tbh why should I bother to make a video?

oh Im sorry then, but I never asked for a video. I just asked for a tutorial, that could very well be writen as many of the reviews. And many of the 1366 threads are specific events that can give us a small ideia, but in the end you still keep not knowing how things work. Anyway Im sorry if I offend you, but I was not the one that once in a while where talking about a tutorial in this mather.

Sorry.

Sorry.

The 1366 threads give you a small idea as basically you need to learn it not have you hand held dude. Overclocking is about learning your rig.

All the details you need are in threads, Ive typed it so much now its getting annoying, I need a 200BCLK macro

^ditto

each chip behaves differently, depending on the mobo, the cooling solution, the ram, and the bios installed.

there would be about 50 tutorials for just the 1366 alone. covering all aspects of the overclock.

with most modern mobos of today, you cannot wreck a chip or ram, as the the newest bios's won't even post. and if you do eventually get through to your OS, running an intense program (like prime95) should tell you if it is stable.

it is a learning curve, and there is ALOT of posts here explaining the do's and don'ts. read them

All that is true, but I mean the Bios paranmeters, 60% of bios options I have no ideia what they mean/do.

Anyway Im sorry for this thread.

perhaps what is more reliant then is a glossary of the options and what they mean? not how each and everyone does but when they are there for and effects on a system?

course google could help with that:P

x 5000.

the threads here, plus google. Learned all I needed for my sig OC. Plus learned from here how to properly do it with bclk in little bits, then the multi. 1.2000V will run 3.8 and 4.0Ghz on my processor. But 4.0 takes 1.216 for full stability. All under 70C.

I'm currently making a video on my bios settings, maybe I will post the linky here when I get it done.

I find it rather amazing how some people treat other people in forums, I mean after all forums are a place were someone can ask for help right? So there for the way I see it there is no such thing as a dumb question! We all have to start somewhere and somehow, some of us might understand things better then others or be able to find information more easily then others. But the fact of the matter is no one should be punished for asking a question no matter how bad or good it is. We are all enjoy this hobby just the same no matter if you have been doing it for 2 days or 10 years. I think we are all guilty myself including of asking a dumb question in our lives and been ridiculed for it, remember how that felt?!?!?! Also remember that if you like it or not your a role model to someone out there and they probably look up to you a lot more then you think. I also think that when someone apologizes to you that you should at least have the respect to acknowledge there apology. Maybe I am full of it maybe I am right or wrong, but it dosent matter I just think we should all start treating everyone with a little more respect no matter there knowlege in any given area.

Ralm: If you havent found a guide already here is a good one to get you started my friend, it helped me out a lot and I hope it helps you out also!

i can see both sides of the coin. someone has come here for help, fair enough. i can also see that Tim is probably sick to the back teeth of people asking him to do this that, and answering the same dozen questions a 1000 times.

There countless vids and guides on youtube probably covering every cpu/mbo combo for OCing (thats how i learned)

we can all agree there is nothing wrong asking for advice saying "ive done this, that and the other, is it ok?" people here will fall over themselves to help, but even a newb like myself groan when i see these "all the gear and no idea" threads open up. Granted, we all had to start somewhere, but there is more than enough info here to get you started with the OCing basics/intermediates and there is nothing wrong with double checking what you done with the guys here

i tried OCing my system for about 12 hours with no success. Tried every bclk/multi/qpi config without luck. All guides i´ve read dosn´t cover an MSI MB. So i´m here asking for advice, because i don´t know a person in rl who can OC. I´m a total noob in OCing but i can´t spend 5 days learning it.

i started a thread in the overclocking forum yesterday, but i will update it now.

I want to hit a stable 4,15 ~ 4,2Ghz setup.

Then what you going to do when it goes bandy in a month or so and you have no idea whats up?

If you cba to learn it buy sandy bridge thats for n00bs or lazy bath-turds
