Replacing cables by extentions or new corsair

Hello, I have a question about replacing my cables, can I replace these ones ?

my PSU is the Silverstone Strider Gold Evolution 2.0 1000 WATTS

because I see cylinder hidden in the interior of the cables

could that be a regulator of amps or something else ?

I have no idea of what is it, it could be these cylinders that you see on some playstation 2 joysticks

i believe there capacitors just to help clean the power a bit more or they might be something to help with electrostatic discharge im not too sure also if your looking to replace the cables for your silverstone i dont think they do replacement cables for them so be prepared to learn how to sleeve and spend allot of time on them also dont buy cheap extensions or replacement cable on ebay or your pc will explode and everyone around you will die instantly in a huge nuclear explosion

those bumps in the harnesses. like my SS should be the +2 for the 6-pin to make 8-pin.

your PSU end should be 8-pin and all eight cavaties have wire in them. if only 6-wires

in the PSU end then they could be a choke of a sort, but don't think so.
