hey dunno if any of you lot would be able to help me, i am with sky fiber an think their router is shite. i am thinking about getting a replacement, an was wondering if any of you had ideas of where to start

thanks

A friend was having probs with the router that they had from sky, he decided to replace his with the TP-LINK TL-WR1043ND. He saw massive improvements afterwards.

Hope this helps guys.

EDIT: just found this

Others have used it also

Yep, poor wireless and intermittent drop outs and few other things, he was going to switch to virgin if he couldn't get it sorted lol

What problems have you got Tripp, is it anything similar to mine on the Netflix and Wi-Fi thread? Also have your problems only come up recently or since you got fibre just after Christmas? Is it the black router you have?

Yeah its the black router, my wifi keeps dropping out for no reason at all. It also feels like I am being throttled at times, as some times I can't watch small videos in hd. I haven't read your thread but I will do now

That sounds very similar to mine then, seems to be this past week for me. You think any chance it could just be Sky?

yeah its been this past week for me too, i have rang sky an they have said theres nothing wrong with my connection, even as i was struggling to stream a 1080p youtube video on a wired network

It must be them, fact that we have the same problem on the same service and live a 5 minute walk away from each other.

yeah it must be mate, its really doing my head in though. an the fact they outright said that i was wrong an there was nothing wrong, like i am think an i don't know what i'm talking about really pissed me off

I was going to call them but it's probably pointless because they'll just say the line is fine. I need to try my wired connection, only got the PC and the PS4 connected that way but not used them recently.

I don't know what to try next, was thinking it might just be another network interfering from a neighbour or something but with you having the issue too it looks more like it's Sky's end.
