Replacement motherboard

My Asus p8p67 pro had died and I'm going to rma it.

If it doesn't get replaced with a working one I will need a new motherboard!

It cost me about £104 so looking to spend around that amount.

My CPU is a 2500k and using a GTX 460(may be SLI soon)

What do you guys and gals think would be a good replacement board?
 
X79 uses LGA 2011, that is 2,011 pins, thus your 1,155 pin processor would not physcially fit, let alone electrically work. So no, the boards will NOT be backward compatible.
 
I dont think so... I thought 2011 socket was backwards compatible

You're thinking of Ivy Bridge, which will have 1155 and 2011 chips, don't quote me on that thought, can't be certain, Wikipedia sometimes can't be trust worthy

Sorry if I have confused anyone! All these chipsets and socket fitments are bewildering!
