Ive been on here a while and sadly up until now, i have have had a non K i7 which i had over clocked to approximately 4.1Mhz.

So i thought id do a little thread for people to leave tips or advice.
I will first be doing what TTL mentioned in his video seeing how little power i need to get the base clock with the turbo ontop.

The only thing that worries me a little right now is the hug difference between each core...

I will add to this once i have the min V for base clock and i will check temps

Also i have been advised to do linpack with AVX not the first test :( so i made my first booboo lol

I started getting HW along with it too.

After finding intel stepping was pushing the volts up i turned that off and just sett the multi to 39 and the bclk to 100 so it would be the same as turbo.

1.01V

I know i could be pushing to get higher numbers but i am pleased to see this is a better chip at 3.9 than my non k :)

It is great to see you getting it to such low volts. I really hope you can get this thing clocked high with enough time.

What setting did you disable exactly? Intel Stepping isn't that specific?

Yeah I found to get really low volts Stepping was adding a little more volts, which I could see was its job to keep the thing stable but by dropping that and having LLC at higher rather than extreme, allowed me to get such low volts :)

From there I started pushing the clock up, for S&G I tried running 4Mhz at 1V I got into windows but when starting OCCT once the memory load got to 50% I was greated with my first BSOD.

So I went back into the BIOS and added 0.02V which did not help so I added another 0.2V. This then allowed a 20min OCCT run (linpack with AVX) not including idle periods. Then 2 Firestrike's runs and a cine bench run. This is what I took to be my general runs.

My 4.2 Mhz run

Then 4.3

I forgot to take screenies but chasing a higher clock meant many more volts. I am now sitting at 4.6Mhz at 2.23V.
Although with LLC and Intel stepping they have pushed up the Volts.

I would of pushed for more but I only have low RPM fans so I'm getting high temps if and when I can put it underwater who knows i might get 4.7 heres hoping.
