Reinstalling OS after changing mobo is annoying.

I'm planning on trying to return my motherboard to get a differen't one because I hate my current one and I'm sick of having to reinstall my OS and all my games. I know there is no work around for the OS and there is a reg hack that will allow you to keep your games but can cause issues, but is there seriously no work around for this? Having to back up everything is really annoying especially because I do not have a large spare HDD and I have to space everything out on a 80G HDD i have and multiple SD cards. I also planned on imagining my HDD but I was told that won't work if you change your OS.

Does anyone have some tips for when you have to change motherboards?

Are you using OEM Windows OS? If so then you can only change the motherboard for the same model. The work around is to buy non OEM software.

The issue is the install puts all the motherboard drivers on there, if you change model of motherboard you should start from scratch if you want it to be stable.

It's a case of, do it properly, or end up getting so frustrated at it not working that you then have to do it properly...

Unavoidable issue i'm afraid buddy.
