Reformatting my HDD (+ Another question)

I'm going to be upgrading my pc tomorrow, including putting my OS and all my games and stuff on my SSD, but seeing as my HDD currently has my existing OS, drivers, etc... will i just be able to boot from my SSD with the HDD plugged in and then just simply reformat it? Something tells me i can't.

Also, do you guys have your drivers installed on your SSD? I was thinking about just shoving them on my HDD but it's just an idea and it would probably be easier just to put them on my SSD.

Yes once you install the OS on the SSD, you will be able to format the HDD with no issues. You might not be able to do it from "Disk Management," but it will be possible via "Diskpart" through the command line

My drivers are installed on my SSD, but as far as I know it doesn't matter where they are tbh.

No probs . I've used Diskpart to do that very task in the past so you should be good.

you'll be better served with opsys (fully updated) and drivers on ssd. run your main apps from ssd and games and such from hdd. I run 199Gb formatted on my ssd'd and still have 60GB of room left after installing updating drivers and several games I have a 1TB drive for other stuff but have not seen a need to put anything on it yet.

naw just havent gotten back to full re-install of my stuff yet. My living status changed on AUG 1st so time has been limited lol thought I acquired a bug somehow as system was acting very strangely (web pages kept giving me security messages) and they were ones I go to all the time forgot when I had to clear cmos after a oc failure that it reset my date to when this board was built. I discovered it during windows re-installion lol I was like DAMNIT I just wiped my raid and it was the freaking date being wrong that was messing up my rig LMFAO!!!
