Redline @ OC3D F@H Prop's & Bragging Thread..

I have my cards set at that speed/voltage now. One card is already up another 6k PPD.

I noticed that as well. The inactivity is much shorter on the rig with an SSD.

I'm not doing SMP on these rigs. Is there anything I need to do to give a core to the GPU client?

I'm still running SMP, but all cards get a core. Main machine with a 7970 and 7950 runs at SMP 6 for example.

If you're not running SMP I don't think you need to do anthing.

I have just joined the game.

After some fighting and pulling out of hair, I now have a GTX 770 in my main rig and a 7950 in my folding rig.

The 770 wasn't being very friendly when I started folding on it, so gave up quickly. The 7950 went in only a couple of hours ago and is already chewing through its first work unit.

It's only showing an estimation of 66500 PPD, but I was running at stock for a while just to make sure flames didn't come forth from the card.

I have now forced +20% power in the CCC so it is stable at the full boost clock and some clocking will be done within the next little while.

The news that I had grabbed a 7950 before selling the old 560 and 560 ti didn't go down so well... I now have to hope that ebay is friendly with what I get back for them otherwise I'm for the dog house for quite some time :s

FWIW

I got the Sapphire 7950 Flex boost. It was the cheapest 7950 card at dabs (where I get most of my kit in the UK, always been good with returns) along side the Sapphire oc/boost version but came with more bits n bobs... I mean, who can say no to a 'free' HDMI cable?

Oh, also, dabs are/were dishing out a free wireless mouse with Sapphire cards. It's coming in a separate box so I have that to look forward to :)

Thanks. I didn't see anything in the client about dedicating a core so wasn't sure if that was something I could do or not. I see now that it's not needed.

Great to have you back! Hopefully you're not in the doghouse for too long. My wife doesn't even know about the 7950s I bought and I think I'm going to keep it that way.

I usually try to buy everything cash so the wife doesn't know how much I spend, but it's hard to that with online purchases:lol: She takes care of the bill paying so no hiding online purchases....

She'll figure it out eventually. I don't normally hide purchases from her, but sometimes I "forget" to tell her. She does the same thing, but with junk like purses and crafting supplies. I'm trying to cure cancer FFS! She can't be mad at that...right?

Btw, my cards are sitting at about 96k PPD each now after the overclock.

The hot days are over - I hope. And since I couldn't find a buyer for my folding farm, the folding effort of mine continues. I figure if nothing changed I'd should be back in the 600k PPD range again.

First finished WU made me crack the top 5 folders of the team. I wonder if I can get to the #1 spot again...

Sorry to hear it didn't sell, but at the same time, welcome back! Steve is pushing out some big numbers so you'll definitely have competition this time around. It will be interesting to see if SMP on your rig has changed much points wise. 7950's really are the king right now IMO.

Speaking of 7950s, Newegg has the Sapphire one at $239.99.

Might have to get another one......

I'm quite disappointed that I found no real purpose for this computer. I might take the time and try to get the SuperMicro board into the 900D. That way it would be quite useful - to a degree at least.

Currently my folding farm is working on a P8105 WU with a TPF of 8:25. The SMP calculator predicts about 680k PPD average... Last time around I hit 650k... So I figure 600k PPD will be realistic.

It's such a shame though. I so would prefer to get rid of this computer and have the 2k Euro for hardware-parts on the 900D build...

My other machines use a 680 and a 560Ti. Really hard to justify the upgrade lol. Damn, those are cheap cards though.

The next machine to replace cards on has 2x 560TIs 384 not the 448 cards, I can replace 2 cards with 1 and gain about 50K PPD while saving a bunch of power/heat. These cards run Core 15 at the same or higher PPD than Core 17.

If I had a 680 I'd for sure leave it alone:lol:

My 7950 just finished it's first wu doing most of it at 1ghz, for the second wu I have taken it to 1.1ghz still under stock volts.

I don't think I will overclock it any higher until I can test stability outside of folding.

Edit:

I was getting on edge about how stable the 1.1ghz was with out me cranking up the voltage in Trixx. So paused the folding for a few mins and did one loop of Unigine Heaven.

No crashes and the core stayed locked at 1.1ghz. Strangely, the core temp got as high as 80c while running Heaven but sits at a more reasonable 70c while folding.

On the 560s (Ti and none Ti) folding would push those cards about 90% as hard as furmark. I wonder if these means these cards have even more to give in the future.

not bad. I cracked the 2 million mark and so did the team for a daily production.
I have not payed attention but I believe it could be a minor team record.

Thanks for the heads up, I didn't catch it. 2 million PPD...I'd love to see that as the average!

Congrats on breaking 2 million! Here's to 5 mil, 10 mil...and beyond. ;)

I think we as a team need to get back into the habit of congratulating people on their milestones. I'll try to do a better job as well.

Congrats on 2 million!!:)

And congrats to the Team as well!:) I'm pretty sure 2 million points in a day is a Team production record

4 out of 5! Well done everyone. We cracked 2 million PPD in 4 out of the last 5 days. I also think we cracked a new team record with 2.4 million points.

Personally I'm about to get to 500k PPD, I cracked the top 10,000 world wide and got in the top 50 of the team. If these WUs continue, I should end up at 650k PPD ;)

Well done mihapiha, you are really storming up the ranks there.

Also a big pat on the back to the rest of the team 2.4 million points is really getting up there.

The cool part is that my TPF is actually a bit better than it was. I'm on the P8105 WUs right now and they come quite heavily ATM. With those I have a TPF of 8:18 ... Now up- and download takes about 12 minutes, which gets me quite close to a 700k PPD average.

This is a phenomenal result especially considering it's coming of one computer.

-----------

We just cracked 2 million PPD on average over the last 7 days! Awesome job everyone. Keep up the folding-spirit!!!!
