I knew nvidia's were hotter but I didn't know they got that hot
Now my 560 Ti(s) are running the -advmethods, my new one with 'stock' cooling is at bout 92c on the core.
The other card folding away under it won't be helping matters though.

With -advmethods, the highest my 580 got to was 83. I did fold with -advmethods for a day or 2, but I didn't want to risk the card.
I'v gotta say. I'm not over the moon it's hitting 90+ but it doesn't worry me either.

I'm thinking of getting a couple of 560 ti's in the next couple of months for a proposed rig and then I wouldn't worry about the high temps. It's just that I don't want to damage my 580 as I want to game on it in the long term.

my top 560 448 got to 94C doing Project 7622 :/
and that was with the fan spinning at max and a fan next to it giving it cool air...
I had thought about a little overclock on the top card. I don't think I shll though.
I was lead to believe the stock voltage for a 560 Ti was 1.01v so when I saw the stock volts at 0.9*something* I thought pushing it to 900mhz would be a npo brainer.
Now its a wait and see jobbie

problem is seeing as these 560s aren't mine I don't want to break them (people on EVGA have reported that water cooled stock 580s have over heated and broke because of these units), if it was my 570 i would just leave it and let it continue.

I don't think its the core thats the problem. Its the VRMs. Which if the card is being water cooled wont be getting ny airflow.
So I can see why a water cooled card would cook.
Does anyone know how manys phases the 560 ti 448 has (stock). Because I know the 570 was just 4 and in hindsight that wasn't enough. So I would hope these 560 448s have more.

if i remember correctly the 560 448 doesn't have a reference design so i think it is all down to each manufacture (though i am not sure if it is just the cooler or is both the cooler and PCB)
Fair enough.
If your cards only have a 4 phase design then you're right to be careful, as you said they are not your cards.
If its more then your going to be pretty safe.
My Asus 560 Ti has 7 so I know I can beat the living hell out of that card. My new one which is an Inno3d, looks like its reference, so it only has 4. Have to be careful about the volts with that one.
That said the 560 Ti (none 448) shouldn't be drawing as much power as a 570 so I should have a bit more head room than the 570s do.

Thats also with these unfriendly work units we are being given. There is no way my averge should be ~45k
Our team has one of the best PPD/Active User ratios.

Project 11041 is giving my 4.2GHz 2500K 22,500PPD!? After a string of 11-12k PPD units, if GPU Tracker is reading this one right it's a beast. (No real bragging, just didn't want to start a new thread for it.)
Kinda makes me want to bump it up to 4.8GHz and see what happens. If the high-point WUs keep flowing like that one, I'm really going to enjoy my i7-3770K upgrade in April!

I can't fun V7 as it doesn't recognise my 1 core Athlon 64 CPU. Time for a cheap upgrade.
Ravious, how good is your board for overclocking the Athlon 64? And where are you located.
Because I may just be able to get the 939 Dual Core opteron to you that is sitting around my perants house.
