Redline @ OC3D F@H Prop's & Bragging Thread..

Race to 5 mil it is.

Unless something goes really well for me and really badly for you I think it's a sure thing you're going to win that one.

Hmmmmm, I could get my dads PC folding though, that would do me another 10k - 12k PPD ... hmmmmm

Edit:

Really MUST change the keyboard on this laptop, the A key is just awful on this one!

Don't toot my horn too often, but last month was one of the best recently at 6.4 million......

I've been in and out of v7 as the points direct...

Now we know why smp-points was recalculated.My 3930k @ 4.5ghz @ 1.3v is doing 53k ppd on a wu6995 @ 552point

.TPF at 1min33sec.

Those are some nice points.

I still see my 2600k break 40k PPD with the 88 and 600 (among some others) base point WU's

The 2410m gets 4000 PPD on an average SMP WU, but on the 'good' ones it can reach as high as 8000 PPD at the moment. HWmonitor reports core temps of 80c but the actual base doesnt get too warm at all.

My T61 with the T7700 ranges between 70c and 85c depending on the fn speed. I have got TPFanControl running otherwise the temp sits arouns 90c.

DAM i just tried to see if my u36sd could fold as it also has a 2410m and a gtx 520, the cpu was getting around 3.7k on a wu7200ppd and the gpu around 2.8kppd (don't remember the wu for that one) but my temps where insane! cpu was moving around 91-95C and the gpu mid 80's.... and that with the fans at max, which is annyoying plus i think the cpu temps would melt my laptop...... ahh temps is the price you pay for getting the one of the slim-ist laptops (without a ulv cpu).. long story short, laptop = can't folding

but overall all ur temps seem pretty friken high... my 2500k (when it was using the D-14 was mid 60's with a 4.8GHz OC) and with watercooling at 5GHz i was in the low 60's (but after a week of that... kinda degraded the stupid chip and even my saved 4.8ghz profile wasn't stable
sad.gif
so i decided i'll go with some very conservative OCs from now, so i'm running at 4.2ghz now (which is more stable then a rock) at 1.25v and my MAX temps after over a week of folding are (49,52,50,50)C for the cores respectively.

Yeah, high temps don't bother me all that much. At 85c is when I start to get worried.

Like I said, I really don't like my PC to be loud. My 2600k would be quite a bit cooler if both the 560 Ti's were not folding... infact if they were folding none -advmethods my CPU temp would be down a bit. Wven when everything is folding 100% I can hardly hear the PC which is how I like it.

I use to be alot more worried about temps untill I saw what laptops run at for years. Also the idea of 60c being a 'safe max' really came about when the temperature sensors were mounted on the motherboard rather than inside the core.

I understand if people wouldn't want to be running their equipment at the temps I do, but I have it running 100% stable days at a time and everything is perfectly fine.

Just a observation I have made, as soon as the CPU goes from 100% to idle the temp drops straight down to between 60c and 65c, before the heatsink is able to remove the heat. This shows that the external temp of the CPU is around the 60c mark. Also it doesn't take all that long for temps to drop to 40c or below. So it shows that temperature isn't a build up that the case and heatsink can't handel.. if you get what I mean.

Going back to your laptop. Have you tried folding on the CPU only. The GPU is probably whats saturating the heatsink since the CPU and GPU will be hooked upto the same heatsink by heat pipes.

Edit:

I have just stopped the 560 Ti's for a short while just to see what the temps on the CPU settle at. Will update in a little while.

Edit 2:

With just the CPU folding the core temps have settled between 68c and 71c.

Can't afford to lose any more PPD so the Ti's are going back on now.

Wow I m just spaming this board left right and centre..... Still though there is always room for some news about ranking up.

I'm now in the teams top 20

Congrats guys, some awesome achievements. I'm not far off 2 million myself. My gaming habit has taken a hit on my PPD and is the reason why I need a dedicated F@H rig/rigs.

LOL ik vind net een Ps3 ik dacht dat ik die verkocht had Pfffffffffffffff
laugh.gif

Oo Oops i am mixen up forums,

carries on in English,

Probably obvious but how much do they bring in 24/7?

EDIT: Oh 900, don't worry - not going to fork out for one then

You could probably build a cheap system from scratch for the same cost that would do 2-3x the PPD for the same cost.

I put together a computer last summer/autumn for +/- £170, the whole system was all new parts. It was a 775 based system and used onboard graphics so it wasn't all that new tech wise but it did what the person wanted it to do.

Not saying thats what you want to do, just highlighting just how awful the PS3 is for folding
