happy folding, guys.

You can use as many computers/laptops as you want. All you need to do is download the client(s) on each machine and enter the same details on each one and you're good to go. Simples

Happy folding, guys.

Just started folding last night and signed up for OC3D this morning. Have been enjoying watching Tom's rambling videos since I started into building and OC'ing 3 months ago. Now I just need to hook up my PS3 and get that running 24x7 as well.

Looks like the sig image isn't real time - I'm showing 3 WU's and 15K points so far.

It updates at regular intervals as far as I know, If it was Real Time I think it would have been banned from the F@H Website due to bandwith usage,

Anywho, welcome to the team!

/D

besides there would be no point making the 3rd party sites real time as the Stanford servers only update once an hour

JohnnyHundo,

Welcome to the Team.

Just a heads up, as much as the PS3 can Fold, the cost to do so, versus the points returned probably makes it somewhat worthless to use. Just a heads up so you don't waste loads of eleccy on a low yield machine.

Hi all,

Ive just joined OC3D folding team with my 2x MSI GTX 580 Lightnings in SLI & i7 2700k.

I came from Overclockers Australia & have been folding there for some time, i was ranked 257th. Nick = hellholefred

* Question - I downloaded FAH GPU Tracker V2 & was wondering if it works in SLI? I can enable 1 or both GPU & it says they are both on project 8009 so im guessing it works in SLI or am i wrong?

Cheers - hellhole

As far as I know each card runs individually and aren't used in dual mode for a WU, so you should be running two lots of 8009 projects, one for each card.

Welcome to 98860!!!

I usually leave the SLI connector connected but SLI disabled in the nvidia control panel, it should work with SLI enabled, but sometimes it messes up....

That's been my experience anyway

As SieB said, they will work on individual WUs. SLI is not used for F@H. In the past you had to disable SLI even to fold. Now it will work with SLI enabled, but won't use SLI.

Welcome to the team!

Hi, I've just joined folding group, but I don't understand how to operate GPU folding. I got GTX 680 but I'm not quite sure what should I tick on GPU folding in client settings. when I click on auto detect it first shows error message and then it detect GPU but after that it does not do anything.

You need to do a couple things to get a GTX680 to work. Check my post here:

Just wondering, I have an HP slimeline dual core that I could probably leave running for 24hours would it be worth doing with a dual core? It's not overclockable and isn't using a very modern dual core like an i3 or anything but it's such low power consumption I could stick it in a corner leave it running for 24/7 and plug a monitor in every now and then to check on it.

I know there is PPD would I be racking up enough points to make it worth doing with a dual core, if you need exact spec I'll fire it up and tell you.

What is the difference between FAH GPU Tracker V2 and F@H version 7 client which are mentioned in the article? Isn't it better to use the newer version?

EDIT - I have installed the v7 client and am now folding away just waiting for this unit to finish and see if my CPU usage drops down since I still want to be able to use my machine
