If anyone else gets the same prob as PEXON here is GPU tracker with the clients downloaded, you just need to configure the settings.

I did try SETI once, but I turned GPU mode (or something) on and a few minutes later my PC started to make this weird half-rattle noise.

Not like I have a dedicated bench for this sort of thing, I could run it when I'm not doing much though. very little helps...right?

Sheza, the SMP (CPU) client gets out of your way when you need to do other stuff (I can comfortably game with it on), but if you are doing GPU folding, I'd say only have that on when your not doing much, it even makes web-browsers slow.

I set this up on my PS3 couple of days ago, was a bit disappointed you have to login to the life channel to get the FAH to start, I was hoping I could just hit the on button and not have to do anything else. I've been an obsessive folder since the BBC climate change boinc which I think was 2005-6 I have folded for Rosetta since 2007. I should post some pics of rigs really but they look total mess down in my basement with side. My 3930K rig has a H100 hanging of the side of my Antec P183 with zip ties

I have a couple of spare rigs, a 775 and a 1366 which I might use for FAH, have to see how things go, my electric bill is pretty scary

Really fantastic article. I haven't personally been affected by Cancer in any shape or form, but I like a lot of people got into folding to help contribute in the fight against some terrible diseases and hopefully find a cure in the future. As you said in the article there is no de-facto cure, but it's awesome knowing that you are helping in some way to find cures or even preventative measures against these awful diseases that have taken away so many precious lives.

Brilliant article!

Big thanks to all those, past and present (and future) who have made this Team as amazing as it is!

This is a great article, I have seen numerous references to folding on these forums since I joined in February but have been very much in the dark as to what it was. This has really opened my eyes with regard to what folding is, how it works and the reasons behind why people do it.

Definitely something I'll be getting into over the coming weeks.

Great article, I hope this will get loads of people folding

one remark though, on the Playstation folding is now integrated in the Life with Playstation, It's not a seperate icon anymore.

I set this up on my PS3 couple of days ago, was a bit disappointed you have to login to the life channel to get the FAH to start, I was hoping I could just hit the on button and not have to do anything else.

After the first setup you can select this as an option in the PS3 menu. Just go to the Life Icon and press triangle, this will give you some options, one of which is auto-start. you can set this to 10 minutes (lowest value), this will start the life with playstation after the console has been idle on the menu for the set amount of minutes.

Thanks for that info OEOTS, I have set the autostart to 10mins, simple procedure once you know where to look

I have a BOINC client running on my server, so simlar but differen? Apart from the projects being more specific and not down to user choice (I think, if I have understood correctly!) are there any other differences? The idea of contributing to a team as well sounds more interesting and fun than just having the computer anonymously contribute.

Isn't it something similar to SETI project. As far as I remember they used the same distributed computing method to find intelligent life outside earth?
