I wish i sent this too Marcus now. I'm so unhappy with this and i am not paying for it at all what so ever! I've used Marcus twice and with kit he has never done before and the resutls have been past my dream and expectasions. He really is a pro. Thomas Thaxly though is nothing but a fake money maker! Just look at the state of my case. Oh this has taken 3.5 months to get done!!

PB050469.jpg

Some sticky stuff under the paint, no prep work done then!

PB050472.jpg

Metal filings all in the top, he said the coaters where taking time, think it was him really!

PB050473.jpg

Asked for that hole to be cleaned up but nothing done at all.

PB050474.jpg

Not sure if you can see it but the lable is still on the case and under the paint, half assed wit!

PB050475.jpg

I asked for the LCD section too be cut out, it's been cut past it. Great...NOT.

PB050476.jpg

Not cut properly, original holes left still, but not one side...

PB050477.jpg

But both side pannles

PB050479.jpg

Sticky stuff all over the inside of the pannels

PB050480.jpg

Been droped and chipped

PB050481.jpg

Looks like rust is forming under the paint, again no prep

PB050483.jpg

Dirty mark on the base

Now let compear the parts i've had done togther with the Pro Marcus and half assed kid Tom.

Marcus did my stuff in a week and that even with the shop having to order paint in! Tom has taken 3.5 months with varying lies and hard too contact, i had people offering to go get it for me (Thanks Socks and WelshDK1).

So i'm now without a case for my unit as this is shagged, im not paying for it at all what so ever, i'm also now very late on delivering the unit for a show/demo.

Stay away form Tom (CPC) people.

That is wrong on so many levels pete :( Looks like theres another retailer on my boycott list. Anyone butchering a vapo case like that needs a slap! Hope that this works out for you though dude.

My god that vapo case has been butchered to buggery. I hope you somehow get a satisfactory result soon Pjalchemist

wow unlucky mate :( that sucks.. cpc off the list for me...

hope you can rescue something from the carnage

Know a not so happy with Chilled PC customer myself. Tom took a month and a half to do a laser cut out for a rad on the roof. And that was for the case the lad bought from Tom too. So it didnt have to be delivered or anything. lack of updates and communication makes it even worse.

The case could be sorted, sand the lot down (mouse would make this easy), redo the cuts so they remove the holes and then recoat then refit the mesh. Effort but the job will be better. Think Marcus will be getting this!

Never had a problem with Chilled Pc myself.

Maybe if you tried to contact Tom you could resolve the situation amicably instead of sounding off in an internet forum and giving him a bad name. I'm sure Tom would do everything to sort it.

It's tricky isn't it.

It's totally understandable for Pjalchemist to be upset with the job that he's had done, whether there's funds involved or a sponsor deal I dunno, but either way, I'm pretty darn sure that if the tables were turned Pjalchemist would be showing as equally detailed thread on how good a job was done.

To be fair to that extent, he has posted some awesome threads with great pics and walkthroughs of what he's done. Including the compressor and build that that this was housing.

(I'll not mention details further than this cos although I understand the principles, I have very limited knowledge about all the parts involved - that being said, appreciating the craft involved is another thing)

Equally, if u've had good work done by Tom, obviously if ur happy with the job u have the same right to praise, and ofc Tom has a right to reply as this is a forum.

I do remember some firm having a similar thread like this created about their work, think it was most postal-damage than handy work tho, and in particular the firm/person took the item back, re-did the job and shipped it back to the user. That is a sign of quality service and also understanding or appreciation of what the user/customer are working to achieve in their fields.

There are associated wc shops and enthusiasts on this forum that provide a similar service. The customer is disappointed or let down by a service or delivery and they put it right - that shows some class imo, it seperates enthusiasts from plain shops there to make money.

Take the handy work to which ever show it is and display it alongside the well done job with a badge on it showing who did what ? Be pretty ballsy, but honest I guess. If it were a good job I would imagine the publicity would be equally appreciated.

I can't use this case a show in it's current state. I don't want a name for my self as a bad builder. I'll lose the comp too which so far looks im winning. Gonna have to sub my cascade for it now then! Yeah if Tom had done it as Marcus has i would be here showing it off, ether a topic like this or in the build log!

Thanks for your kind words dude, made me smile and cheared me up

I'd invite Tom to this thread to try and respond personally as this is ****e work. I'm not exactly handy with tools (but I am brave) but I could have done what you wanted to a better standard than that hash.

No money given + Re-done job + online (and personal) apology

This has NO excuses. Appaling. Hope you get it sort Pja

Hi all,

Dont often post on here - but been drawn into it now.

Recieved an email about the case last night and have replied at first oppurtunity this morning (as with all other emails).

Case has been damaged as its unusable, but I have of course offered to re-do the work - thats a non-issue. Any problems we will always fix - we wouldnt be where we are now if we didnt.

There is always some mistakes and I take full responsibility for this (personal and business circumstances which I dont need or want to post).

As stated further up in the thread - obviously this isnt a "normal" outcome to a mod and we've had many happy customers so far during our time providing these kind of services. In fact we had 5 other cases in with that unit and they all came out fine.

Obviously the powdercoaters need to see this so they can prevent it happening in the future.

Pete have you been phoning my mobile? as that number was diconnected mid-oct (contract ended). So any voice mails etc are god knows where.

Thanks to all

Tom

^^ Now been struck off the boycott list.

It's good to see you take customer complaints seriously and offer to re-do work. As someone else said, it shows you are a company worth dealing with.

I can also see that PJ may not want to take up your offer as after a certain point (3.5 months seems about right) you just don't want to deal with it anymore. I understand that there were private reasons for the delay, but there was still a massive turn around time.

I hope this gets sorted amicably between you two.

As I said, I wouldn't be worried about dealing with your company and you shall definitely get a look in if I need a case modded to a standard I couldn't match.

The 'deliveries' in the pictures in my project thread are from ChilledPC, as they have the largest stock and supply and when ordering from UK I prefer to order as much as possible/everything from the same place. The first delivery got some delay due to some parts not being in stock, but came through pretty fast anyway and with some bonus barbs. The second delivery arrived on tuesday, ordered friday. Got a bit of candy with it too :p

Obviously not quite the same as sending in a case or part(s) of it for mods (would be too expensive for me due to postage costs), but I'm quite pleased with the service and have gotten fast replies to my emails whenever I had questions.

Obviously somebody messed up in this case, but from Toms post above it would appear this can and will be sorted in a proper manner. Understand Petes frustration though.

Mods please close this too keep the peace as Tom and i will take it via mail!

Tom you answered the phone a few times but thats it and it still rings!!

I honestly believe that there's not one company on the internet that it can get it right every time. Sure it can be VERY frustrating when you happen to be the person that they get it wrong for, but in contrast to Pete's bad experience, you can be sure that there's plenty of people who have been pleased by Tom's work.

Now that we have both an apology and an offer of putting the issues right, I think it's time we wrapped things up.
