Real and effective clock

Hi, I'm new to these boards. In EVEREST Ultimate I saw that my GPU has a real clock and an effective clock, what does it mean? Is it like, when I'm not playing it stays on the real clock and when I start playing it goes to the effective clock or something like that? Well, yeah, quite confused here, hope you guys can help me. Thanx in advance

I think your talking about the memory clock.

Becasue the video memory is double data rate it doubles the real clock to get the effective clock..

Real clock is what its running at and effective is what it performs at.

Yeah, sorry, I was talking about the memory clock. Thanx for your reply, it cleared stuff up for me
